Gorrick Rnd 2 Race Report

Sub zero temperatures did not detract for the great course at Tunnel Hill, Farnborough for round 2 of the Gorrick Spring series.
Niki decided to ride in the Elite/Expert category as they were doing 4 laps rather than the 2 that the Masters were doing. The decision paid off as she came a close second to Abi Greenaway.
Joe rode in sport as they were also doing 4 laps and finished 5th.

Sick Notes and Mud
Round 3 of the thetford winter series was a challenging affair. Joe and Matthew both pulled out due to sickness but Niki and John took part. The course was a story of two halves, the dry windy bits and the wet muddy sludgy bit. In the Ladies 2 hour Niki got a good start but faded towards the end to finish 8th, In the Mens 2 hour John rode a steady race but only managed 45th. The facilities at Red lodge made for a great venue though so looking forward to racing there next again year.

Mud, Rain and Gears...
Heavy rain, mud and high winds made conditions challenging at the second round of the Thetford Winter Series.
Joe finished in 11th out of 189 after his usual "going off too fast" efforts. 2nd after lap 1 and 3rd going into the last lap it was close but after blowing up he faded badly to 11th. Still dissapointing not to have got a mention in the official write up though...
Niki was 4th after a nightmare start, chasing Debbie Burton who was determined this time to get away.
Matthew managed to miss the start by 5 minutes after a nightmare journey but still managed to catch quite a few riders on his new shiny bike
John also finshed just outside the points so couldnt add to his total.
